Tom Ferry has traveled throughout the U.S., following a lifelong passion for photography.  While his camera captures people, landscapes, nature and celebrations of life, it is his love of Thoroughbreds and the world of horse racing that commands the majority of his time and devotion.

Tom was one of three finalists for the 2017 Sovereign Award in the category of Writing for "Where Champions Dance," a feature he wrote about Canada's Sam-Son Farm for International Racehorse Magazine.

His writing and photography have been seen in the pages and websites of Thoroughbred Times, The Blood-Horse, Horse Racing Nation, Paulick Report, Keeneland Magazine, International Racehorse, America's Best Racing, Saratoga Living, The Tennessean, New York Breeder, Midwest Thoroughbred, Illinois Racing News, The Horse Resource and the books, Broken, Wicked Tales From the Kentucky Derby and They Call the Horses. His photos have also been exhibited at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois and a graduate of Western Illinois University, Tom has built a successful career in the Chicago advertising industry for more than 25 years.  But while advertising pays the bills, photography and writing feed his soul.
